Enders' Roxy in premature baby plot

EastEnders' Roxy Slater is to face one of the toughest times of her life when her baby is born at least two months premature and is left fighting for survival.

Roxy, played by 31-year-old Rita Simons, is reportedly rushed to hospital next month when she suddenly goes into labour. Her husband Sean Slater (Rob Kazinsky) can only look on in anguish in the hope that Roxy and the baby survive the ordeal.

A source told The Sun: "It's a terrible time for Roxy and Sean. While the baby wasn’t planned, it has really brought them together. The baby has given Sean something to live for and he's even kicked the drugs.

"They got married after Sean pledged his love for the unborn baby. They've turned their lives around preparing to become parents.

"They continued: "As far as Roxy's concerned, her pregnancy has finally brought her beloved dad Archie (Larry Lamb) back into her life and given her the stability that she has always dreamed of having.

"However, the paternity of Roxy's baby remains uncertain as she also slept with her sister Ronnie's (Samantha Janus) then-boyfriend Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) at around the same time as Sean.

An EastEnders spokeswoman said: "We can't comment on future storylines."
