A Dirty Den For Janine
Saucy Janine Butcher is set to open a sleazy massage parlour – causing uproar in Albert Square. The ex-hooker will be up to her old tricks again from the moment she sets foot back in Walford. Locals including Dot Branning are ready to do everything they can to get the place shut down. But with scheming Janine more determined than ever to make a go of the business they’ll face one hell of a fight.
The babe also befriends wayward teen Jay Brown and gets him to help her set it all up. And with his legal guardian Billy Mitchell all too aware of what Janine is capable of, he also joins Dot’s campaign to stop the venture in its tracks. An insider said: “At first no one knows what Janine is up to. She rents out a flat in the Square and tries to keep things as discreet as possible. “But like most things in Walford it doesn’t take the locals long to discover what she’s really up to.
“As you can imagine a lot of people are not pleased about having a massage parlour on their doorstep. “Janine insists it’s all above board but with her track record everyone is fully aware of what she’s up to. “
Dot is totally disgusted. And will lead the battle to get the place closed down.”Fans of the BBC1 soap will be able to watch the storyline unfold early next year.

Altman: 'Going back was like a dream'
EastEnders actor John Altman has said that his return to the BBC soap was like a dream. The 56-year-old, who has played Dot Cotton's wayward son Nick on and off since 1985, argeed to make a comeback to the BBC soap after a seven-year break.
Speaking about his return to Elstree studio, home of EastEnders, Altman told DS: "Going back for me was a bit like a dream at first. You know when you have those dreams about things you did a few years back and you end up almost reliving the past?"
He continued: "But then I realised how much I'd changed - I'd matured quite a bit, too. It didn't take long to slot back in, either. Getting Nick's 'voice' back, getting his gear back on and going back into Dot's front room. It took me about a morning and I was comfortable with it all again."

Palmer 'like a mother to Maisie Smith'
EastEnders star Maisie Smith has admitted that Patsy Palmer is like a real mother to her on the set of the BBC soap.Speaking to the Essex Echo, seven-year-old Smith, who plays Bianca Jackson's youngest daughter Tiffany, said: "I love being on EastEnders. I really get on with Patsy. She looks after me so well. It’s like I’m her real daughter some days.
"Everyone is really nice. Pam St Clement, who plays Pat Butcher, is also really lovely to me."
Smith added that her Albert Square experience has convinced her to follow acting as a full-time career.
She said: "I'm glad I get to be cheeky and say some funny lines. I would never want to be a goody goody. It’s strange people point at me in the street now and ask if I’m the girl from EastEnders. All my friends think it’s great I’m on television. I think I will want to be an actress forever now."
Her father Steven remarked that Maisie's fiery on-screen persona is "an exaggeration of her own personality. She’s a little madam sometimes, both on and off screen".

Kazinsky: 'Sean would have made a good dad'
EastEnders' Rob Kazinsky has suggested that his Walford character would have made a good father. The 25-year-old exits the soap at the beginning of January in a dramatic New Year's Day episode, which sees the fallout of Christmas Day's paternity revelation reach an icy climax.
Despite Sean not being the biological father of his wife Roxy's baby, Kazinsky has insisted that his Albert Square counterpart would have been a good dad.
He told DS: "You only have to look at his behaviour over the last number of months. He became a responsible man, always doing what was best for Roxy. He really started to sort his life out and step up to the plate. That's why it's a shame that someone who's turned over a new leaf like Sean has had it taken away from him."
Speaking of Sean's past, he added: "Sean had the best dad in the whole world. He was a kind, considerate and caring man, but Sean didn't realise he was until 'he was gone'. Sean was 16 when his father died, so for Sean, bringing up baby Amy was a way for him to make it up to his dad - by being the father to Amy that his father was to him."

Larry Lamb: 'Archie's misunderstood'
EastEnders actor Larry Lamb has suggested that his scheming Walford character is simply misunderstood. The 64-year-old's counterpart Archie Mitchell, who viewers first saw when Albert Square headed to Weymouth, quickly unsettled the Mitchell family not only by his immediate presence, but by proposing to his sister-in-law and Queen Vic landlady Peggy.
Speaking of Archie's menacing ways, Lamb told DS: "There are still things emerging. He's somebody who's made a lot of mistakes in his past, wanting everybody to come up to speed and not still deal with him the way they knew him back then.
There's an element of misunderstanding with Archie, but Ronnie's obviously been so badly stung by him."Back in October, Archie called off his engagement to Peggy after Pat cajoled Peggy into testing his trust, resulting in him postponing the wedding indefinitely.
However, the actor teased: "Wedding bells are very definitely in line for the New Year. He's called it off, though and at the moment, they're friendly but they're living under a flag of truce with an element of mystery lurking.
"Christmas week also sees Archie exact the ultimate revenge on his daughter Roxy's husband Sean Slater by revealing that he isn't the father of Roxy's new-born, Amy.
Lamb added: "The crux of Christmas week for Archie is that he's woven so many webs that he's becoming terrified that something's going to unravel and he's going to be seriously exposed for what he's been cooking..."

Roxy has Christmas dinner worry
EastEnders' Roxy Slater is to have her Christmas ruined by Suzy Branning before it has even begun.Rita Simons has revealed that Suzy - played by Maggie O'Neill - tells Roxy she has seen the paternity test results for her baby Amy while they are peeling spuds for Christmas Dinner.
Rita said: "Amy is definitely not Sean's.
"Roxy doesn't think that anyone else has seen the paternity test results, so up until Christmas Day everything is hunky dory.
"We're cooking a big old Christmas dinner for the whole Slater/Mitchell clan, everything's rosy. Then Suzy completely shatters my world while I'm peeling potatoes!
"I then spend the rest of dinner staring at a wall, wondering if she's going to say anything."
Rob Kazinsky, who plays Roxy's husband Sean, also revealed that Suzy is working for Roxy's evil dad Archie, played by Larry Lamb, who wants to break up the happy family.
Rob said: "Archie is the one who found the test, so he knows and he's paying Suzy to give me the results and screw me over.
"But then he sees how happy we are and how great everything is and in true EastEnders style makes it worse."

Later as Suzy walks alone across Albert Square Ahmet steps out of the shadows and tells her that he knows she isn't pregnant.
It's the same trick she used on him - say you're pregnant, get all their secrets and then tell them you've miscarried and run off with their possessions.
He tells her that he knows she doesn't have the money to pay him back so he wants her to rip off Phil and give it all to him. Suzy's furious but Ahmet blackmails her and gives her until Christmas to get him what he wants.

Janine's wedding
EastEnders superbitch Janine Butcher returns to our screens next week in typical Janine style. If you've not then in a nutshell, Janine - or should I say her nom de plume Judith Berstein - is marrying an old Jewish man called David.
Janine's actually spent years converting to Judaism and all's going to plan - until Ricky, Billy and Pat spot her in a Jewish newspaper. Ricky and Billy are determined to be there for the nuptials, but Pat's not so sure. Without invites, both Billy and Ricky turn up at the synagogue - and it's not long before Pat turns up to throw a whole selection of spanners in Janine's long-term con.
After all, Janine's typically only in it for the money. As you can see from my picture below, Janine loses it when Pat arrives and dishes out a tongue-lashing. And it's Pat's revelation about Janine which causes her husband David to have a heart attack.
But one question remains following his death - did Janine do enough to secure a prominent place in his will?

"There are questions that remain unanswered, so maybe he could come back and answer them."
