'Who's the Daddy?' betting suspended

Betting has been suspended on EastEnders' ongoing 'Who's the Daddy?' plot following sustained support for one contender.

Ladbrokes opened a book over which Walford man was responsible for Heather Trott's shock pregnancy.

Since it began taking bets, Phil Mitchell was backed into the 1/2 odds-on favourite from 5/1.

The original market leader, Heather's ex-husband Minty Peterson, drifted from 2/1 favourite to 4/1 second favourite alongside Eddie, the mystery man Heather met in R&R.

Darren Miller remained at 6/1, while Garry Hobbs and Vinnie Monks stood at 8/1 when the book closed. Vinine's son Callum stayed the rank outsider for the duration at 16/1.

Barman Billy Mitchell and Christian Clarke remained 10/1 shots and Charlie Slater stood at 12/1.

A spokesman for Ladbrokes said: "Viewers may be in the dark about the identity of the baby's dad but punters are in no doubt - they fully expect another addition to the Mitchell clan."

Earlier this week, details emerged about the name and true sex of Heather's as-yet-unborn child.
