EastEnders Proud misses Lawrence

EastEnders actor David Proud wishes he was still working with his screen mum Josie Lawrence.

The comedian and actress has filmed her last scenes as Manda Best and will soon be seen leaving the show.

David, who plays her son Adam, said: "I really miss her and wish she was still there but she's an amazing actress - but I think I'll always be in touch with her."

He added: "The things she's taught me have been amazing - watching her work and seeing how she approaches the scene and talking over different things."

David, who has spina bifida and uses a wheelchair, first appeared in EastEnders in September 2009.

Executive producer Diederick Santer said at the time: "This is the first time we've had a regular adult character with a visible disability played by an actor with a disability. It's about time."
