EastEnders stars panic

Nina Wadia has revealed the 'EastEnders' cast are "panicking intensely" about the live episode tonight (19.02.10).

The actress who plays comic battleaxe Zainab Masood in the long-running BBC One soap won't play a major role in the nerve-wrecking show herself but is sympathetic to her co-stars who are involved in the storyline surrounding the hunt for Archie Mitchell's killer.

She said: "Some are nervous, some are having a laugh because they have no lines and others are thinking of how to calm their nerves.

"We finally find out who done it. I can't wait!"

The murder storyline will come to a climax this evening as the killer is revealed during the special live episode which is in celebration of the programme's 25th anniversary.

The cast has been rehearsing a selection of different endings for the past two weeks - but they will only be told which character killed Archie this morning.

However, the gruelling rehearsal schedule has started to take its toll on the cast, who are worrying they could mess up their lines.

Scott Maslen who portrays ex-policeman Jack Branning explained to The Sun newspaper: "I'm nervous. People are riling each other about who will muck up."

Tonight will also be the last scenes for Charlie Clements, whose character Bradley Branning will make a dramatic exit from the show this evening.

He said: "I'm thinking of it as like doing a bit of theatre."

Lacey Turner who plays his on screen girlfriend Stacey Slater said: "I'm excited and a bit nervous. We're crossing our fingers."

However, Charlie Brooks has admitted her major concerns were about job security.

She quipped: "I want to find out whether it's me that killed Archie as I want to know if I've got a job next year!"
