'Dangerous' soap lothario Martin Jarvis

Martin Jarvis finds it "thrilling" playing an 'EastEnders' lothario.

The 68-year-old actor who portrays womanising journalist Harvey Freeman in the BBC One soap thinks it is fantastic and "dangerous" when his alter-ego gets caught up in a love triangle with both Peggy Mitchell and Pat Evans.

He said: "Being a potential thorn between the two Albert Square roses is as thrilling and perhaps even as dangerous as anything else I've ever done. There'll certainly be some shocks heading Harvey's way of the coming weeks.

"It seems that romance is definitely on the cards, but with which of them, I couldn't possibly say, it might even be both!"

While Martin believes his alter-ego is playing a risky game trying to woo both the soap legends, the British actor has loved working with Barbara and Pam again.

He added: "They're two of the finest actresses in Britain, and I love working with them. The whole 'EastEnders' team has been wonderfully welcoming."
